I Almost Didn’t Buy This Quince Dress – Here’s What Happened

I'm gonna be real with you guys—I was so nervous to buy this dress. Like, the pictures looked gorgeous, but I just didn't trust it would actually show up looking like that. You know how that goes.

Well, it showed up, and I swear it's even prettier in person. 😍 We got a size 6 and it fit my daughter absolutely perfectly. But here's the thing—if you want that full ball gown look, you need a hoop skirt underneath. I actually reviewed the exact hoop we used (check my profile if you want), and together? Total princess moment. I can't even tell you how beautiful it was.

So, there were a few downsides. But for what we paid? I'm really not complaining. Let me just lay it out.

The cons (because I'm keeping it honest):

  • The gems on the bottom of the dress are super glued on. Not sewn. 😬 Now, I'm not taking off stars for this because the price was so fair, but it's worth knowing—especially if you need to clean it. I've dealt with super-glued stuff on clothes before and washing it is a nightmare. For a one-time Quince? Totally fine. But if you're doing multiple photo sessions before the big day, just be careful. The actual fabric is really nice, which makes the super glue thing a little disappointing. (For what it's worth, the gems on the corset are sewn on.)

  • The corset has this silk-like ribbon in the back that you have to loop and tie closed. So yeah, she's gonna need someone to help her get into it. And the bow after we tied it? Super limp and sad-looking. 😕 But I figured out a trick—there's a little hole toward the bottom of the corset, so I poked my finger through and tucked the ribbon inside. Made it look way cleaner. I also made sure to tie the bow inside the dress so nothing was dragging. You could probably swap in a different ribbon if you want a bow that actually stands up on its own, but honestly tucking it worked fine for us.

  • The sewn-on gems on the corset back? My daughter was just sitting on the couch and a couple came loose. They didn't fall off completely, but that's when we realized—she can't really lean or rub against anything, or more might pop off.

So yeah, those little things were annoying. But again, the price was totally fair, so I'm not docking stars. The dress was gorgeous, and my daughter felt amazing in it. That royal blue? So rich and vibrant—way better in person. I posted some pics of her in the sunlight so you can really see the color pop.

Would I recommend it? Absolutely. I already told a friend looking for an affordable Quince dress to go for it. 💙
